this is our life - lifestyle photo project for weeks 8, 9, 10 and yes 11

Yes, I know.  Posting 4 weeks worth of weekly photo challenge images all at one time may give the appearance it is a monthly photo challenge.   But think of it this way... it's a huge bonus post as you get 4 in 1!!!  Moving on...

The prompt for the weekly lifestyle photo challenge was "wild card" for week 8.  This may at first seem like a strange choice for a photo selection. But I love it because it perfectly captured our life emersed in potty training.

The theme for week 9 was "shadows".  And I must say this theme fit what we were feeling a little too closely.  When doing children's photography, there is a desire to capture all that is quirky, lighthearted and fun.  But if I'm truly capturing "this is our life", I have to share that our sweet little girl had to grow up way too fast all in one day and learn life is not all rainbows and fairy magic.  Her beloved kindergarten teacher lost her life in a drowning accident on my daughter's 6th birthday.  It was heartbreaking.  She grew rather quiet for the next couple days, and I caught her here watching a late winter storm.  I can only imagine what was going through her little mind as she watched the snow swirl in the wind...

The prompt for week 10 was "changes".  Only fitting to show a bit of the fairy fantastic party Nadia and her friends enjoyed for Nadia's birthday.   The girls made fairy gardens, earned fairy wings, and ate lots of fairy treats.   I can't believe she is 6 is already... she is changing way too fast for me to handle!

And finally... we are all caught up to week 11.  The prompt is "play".  If you've met my three old son, you know he is all things obsessed with cars.  He spends hours and hours lining them up in perfect order.   We recently re-did his bedroom into a big boy room - complete with a car theme.  He of course finalized the decor with a line of cars on his dresser, with each car hand selected based on color and racing ability.   As quirky as this stage is, I will be forever sad when he doesn't play this anymore.  For now, line 'em up!
