Last weekend we did six Valentine's sessions in a day. Whew - it was quite the whirlwind! It was my first experiment with stuido photography... if a single chalkboard wall in our playroom/office/guestroom counts as a studio. It was a lot of fun - and I must say I can see the appeal of studio photography where there isn't a scavenger hunt for the best light and you have everything you need right there. My passion will always be lifestyle photography where you capture unscripted moments... kids oblivious to the camera as you capture them in their element...expressions that aren't prompted. But I have to admit I can't stop thinking now about a future studio to be added over our future garage addition... someday!
Thanks to all my models and their patient moms. So many bright smiles and beaming personalities were captured in our silly Valentine's day shots. I loved way more images than I expected from the sessions - those kids were amazing!! A peak below from the super sweet six sessions:
Love, love, love this one of the twins...
but I'm fairly certain they loved this one where we painted their hands a lot more - they thought this idea was crazy!
how cute is she? I'm tempted to make this family's gallery fully public so you can see this little girl work it. what a natural!!
and big props to her older sister for losing her tooth just in time to make the perfect missing tooth picture. love this smile!!
do the expressions get any cuter than with these sisters?!?
Oh yes, the expressions do get more fun when their baby sister is added to the mix!
Now this little man is at that age than can be tough to pin down for pictures so I wasn't sure how our session would go. Holy Mr. GQ!! He was adorable the whole way through.
Who doesn't love having their picture taken with chocolate face accessories? From my small test sample, I can say it was a hit all around.
What a little sweetie. She patiently posed for shot after shot after shot waiting for her brother to join her.
But he had other ideas... some guys just know from the beginning that they will not bow down to Valentine's gimmicks. I was secretly happy he revolted because we got some sweet lifestyle shots of him that day. And last but not least, the cupid arrow. How cute are these two rocking the perfect pose?
Happy Valentine's Day to all of these little sweeties!
